Bratislava Botanical Garden
- Parks & Gardens
A peaceful retreat in Karlova Ves, the Bratislava Botanical Garden showcases thousands of plant species across themed outdoor areas and tropical greenhouses.
Living Collections
The Bratislava Botanical Garden, operated by Comenius University and established in 1942, spans 6.6–7.5 hectares and contains over 4,000–5,000 plant species, including extensive cactus, succulent, rose, and tropical collections. Its greenhouses feature orchids, palms, ferns, Australian flora, and subtropical plants, while outdoor areas include rock gardens, woody plants, and a large rose garden with around 150 hybrid varieties.

Research and Public Access
As Slovakia’s oldest public botanical garden, it serves both scientific and educational purposes, supporting research, plant acclimatization, and public exhibitions. Open from April to October, it offers quiet paths, ponds, and seasonal displays that make it a popular relaxation spot near the Danube.
