A Historic Woodland in the Heart of Bratislava

Founded in the late 19th century, Horský Park was designed as a “forest park” combining natural woodland with landscaped paths and viewpoints. Its mix of native beech and oak trees with rare species such as ginkgo and larch creates a calm, shaded refuge just a short walk from the city’s historical core.

Horáreň Horský Park: The cosy forest lodge café at the park’s centre serves coffee, snacks, and local treats, with a large garden and playground.
Mini-Zoo: Right behind the café, children can visit a small outdoor mini-zoo with goats, rabbits, and other animals cared for by local volunteers.
Sculpture Gallery: Along the main path stands a free outdoor gallery of Slovak sculpture, featuring works by contemporary artists in harmony with nature.
Walking Trails: The park’s meandering paths and stone stairways offer a perfect route for walking, jogging, or quiet reflection among tall trees.

The park lies just below the Slavín War Memorial, making it easy to combine a forest walk with one of Bratislava’s most impressive viewpoints. From here, it’s only a 15-minute walk to the Old Town or a short ride on public transport.
