A Legacy of the Market

Built in 1910, the Old Market Hall was Bratislava’s first covered marketplace. It is a significant technical monument designed by municipal engineer Gyula Laubner. After years of different uses, it was restored to its original purpose — to bring people together through food and local produce. Today, it is home to bustling Saturday markets and a calendar full of community events.

What to Experience

• Every Saturday, the hall hosts the Trh–Piac–Markt, a charming farmers’ and artisan market filled with local vegetables, homemade delicacies, pastries, wine, and coffee. It’s where Bratislava residents come to meet friends, shop locally, and soak up the weekend mood.

• Once a month, the square in front of the hall turns into the Street Food Park, a mini festival of food trucks and world flavours that fills the area with irresistible aromas and live music.
