Bratislava Wine Tour

Although Bratislava is today known as a modern capital, wine has played an important role in the city’s history for centuries. The Old Town and Bratislava Castle were once surrounded by vineyards, and wine production and trade were among the most important parts of local life.

During the Bratislava Wine Tour, you will explore historic streets, courtyards and hidden corners connected with the city’s wine tradition. Discover places where winemakers and wine merchants once lived, learn interesting stories about wine production in the Bratislava region and see parts of the Old Town that many visitors miss.

The tour also reveals Bratislava’s connection to European wine history – including the fact that the first sparkling wine production outside France began here in 1825.

The experience ends with a wine tasting of selected Slovak wines in a historic wine cellar, combining local flavours with the history and atmosphere of Bratislava.
